Grace Fellowship is a local congregation that was founded in 2003 because of the providential work of God. A small group of about 15 families found themselves longing for a more biblical expression of the local church, and as they searched Calhoun County they were left with the impression that something was missing. In August 2003, the men representing those families began to meet together to answer questions like, "What is the local church? Does Calhoun County need another expression of the local church? Why would this new church be different or offer a different type of ministry to the community? Is God leading us as a group of families to be a new local church work?" After weeks of prayer, study and long conversations, it became evident that God was moving among these people to birth a new local body of believers. The official journey began in October 2003, when they held their first public worship services at the Anniston Meeting Center. It was a wonderful day of gathering, fellowship, singing, confessing, preaching, praying and being called to walk with Jesus in all aspects of life. What began that Sunday has continued for over 20 years as we still share the same goal, purpose and authentic community! Grace Fellowship exists to glorify the name of Jesus Christ through worship, service, community and mission.
